Dear IAPHL Members,
November was a month of extending and awarding new grants to our country chapters. The IAPHL secretariat has awarded grants to the following chapters: Benin, Burundi, Cameroon, Congo, Ivory Coast, DRC, Ghana, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Nepal, South Africa, and Tanzania. We are now following up with four other country chapters on their grant proposals. In addition to talking to our chapter leaders individually, we also held both a Francophone Chapter Leaders Meeting and a regular Country Chapter Leaders Meeting this month. We are hoping our final Chapter Leaders Meeting for the year will be well attended.
After providing scholarships to our IAPHL ambassadors to the ASCM conference in October, we have been able to award fifty-one such scholarships to the upcoming Global Health Supply Chain Summit Virtual Conference to be held on December 7 to 9. We expect that our scholarship recipients will share some of the things they are learning from the conference with all of the membership.
On the 14th of this month, IAPHL will be holding a webinar on e-Learning. This will be an interesting talk from two perspectives: a professional e-learning instructor, and from an e-learning student and professional public health supply chain professional. Make sure to register here.
We had to postpone the semi-annual IAPHL Advisory Group Meeting planned for this month. We now expect that we will hold this meeting in January or February. We will be following up this meeting with a strategic planning Advisory Group meeting. We are hoping to develop a new three-year strategic plan for IAPHL.
Well we continue to grow in membership even as we work diligently to clean up our membership files. There are still people who join again, when their position or email changes, rather than changing this information in the profile dropdown under their account on the website.
Wishing everyone the best during this holiday season and a happy new year.
Walter Proper
IAPHL Executive Director
