PtD Global Indaba

Growing & connecting the future health supply chain workforce

IAPHL is joining the People that Deliver Global Indaba in Bangkok, Thailand, from 6-8 March 2024. The conference — the only global gathering focused on human resources for supply chain management — provides a platform to exchange ideas and insights and together develop the workforce of the future.

IAPHL sessions: Co-creating the Future

Held on Friday 8 March, “Co-Creating the Future” is a two-part series of interactive sessions focused on shaping the future of public health supply chains — with an emphasis on elevating workforce voices. We will gather as a community of practitioners and dig deeper into the topics, approaches, and ideas surfaced over the course of the Indaba in order to:

  • Imagine possible futures
  • Explore emerging tools and solutions
  • Gain/share knowledge and skills with peers
  • Create connections and strengthen networks
  • Contribute to shaping IAPHL’s strategic direction and agenda

Session details:

Workforce Futures: Voices & Visions / 8:45-10:15am — Drawing on futuring and foresight methods, we will envision possible health supply chain futures and explore the roles and influence of the workforce.

The Workforce of the Future Think Tank / 10:40am-12:45pm — A series of open discussions, proposed and led by Indaba participants, that dig deeper into the most pressing topics and issues facing the workforce of the future and identify potential new directions and actions. These are informal, 35-minute small group discussions — no presentations or projections!

IAPHL concierge services

IAPHL is also providing a range of “concierge” services to participants, including:

  • IAPHL Rally Point — An informal, friendly space where participants can relax, connect, and share emerging insights.
  • Skill Share — A matchmaking service to connect people who want to learn, with people who want to share.
  • WhatsApp Group — An IAPHL@Indaba WhatsApp group to connect and coordinate with other members attending the conference. Feel free to post messages in either English or en Français. This is also a place where you can offer or ask to share a skill.
  • Think Tank Session Leads Coaching — Want to propose a session but feel a bit intimidated? We will coach you through the process.

IAPHL Ambassadors

IAPHL is sponsoring five Ambassadors who will participate in the Indaba in order to share their learning and insights with the community.

  • Umesh Gupta, Nepal
  • Evelyne Kahare, Kenya
  • Altaf Biljarani, Pakistan
  • Kakanang Tosanguan, Thailand
  • Dr Khunjira Udomaksorn, Thailand

Each Ambassador has committed to:

  • Serve as part of the IAPHL team at the Indaba, supporting members via our concierge services
  • Lead an open discussion during the Workforce of the Future Think Tank session
  • Post daily highlights on the IAPHL listserv, summarizing impressions and key takeaways from sessions and conversations
  • After the Indaba, produce a short report summarizing their overall insights
  • After the Indaba, lead or present at an IAPHL webinar

It is our hope that Ambassadors grow as active leaders in their respective Country Chapters.
