Dear IAPHL Members,

Happy summer for some and happy winter to others!  I hope this letter finds you well.

I had hoped to report that we have completed our new three-year strategy, but like with many key activities, it has taken longer than expected.  That said, we have made progress with developing several recommendations to the Advisory Group.  We also are expecting that our consultants will be sending out a short survey this month to the overall membership.  When the survey is posted, please do take time to provide your critical feedback to the recommendations that the strategy committee have developed.

We continue to support the PtD Indaba Conference that will be held Zambia in October of this year.  We have now closed the applications for our IAPHL Scholarship/Ambassadorships.  We received more than 100 applications.  Although it is always a challenging task, the review committee will be going through the applications in the next two weeks to select the twenty semi-finalists.  As you may have read, the semi-finalists will then be expected to post views on the IAPHL listserv on health supply chain issues from their different perspectives.  The committee will then select the 10 most active semi-finalists with the most informational submissions.  The finalists then will be awarded full scholarships to attend the conference.

What to expect in June – we are planning on having a moderated discussion on humanitarian procurement.  In addition, WI-HER, the group who conducted the moderated discussion on gender and inclusion, are planning on a webinar and training sessions.

As always, if you have a good idea for a moderated discussion or a webinar, please let us know.

Please stay safe.  All the best.

Walter Proper, IAPHL Executive Director
