Although Dr. Andy Numbi is a member of several international associations, he notes that IAPHL is the only one that “allows frequent regular exchanges and discussions between members on various issues related to opportunities and challenges in the field of health logistics.”

Andy is an independent supply chain professional in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As is true for many of his colleagues across and beyond Africa, Andy cites limits to financial resources as one of the biggest challenges to his work. He adds that lack of funding also means lack of training, resulting in people being responsible for supply chain functions that they can’t manage properly.

Andy does his part to fill these gaps by sharing his knowledge with future and less experienced supply chain professionals through training and mentoring. As an independent professional, he especially appreciates the valuable practice tips and updates that he gains from his IAPHL membership.
