Dear IAPHL Members,

I hope all the members are doing well.  As you may know, this will be my last executive letter to you all. As of April 1st, Timi Omole takes over as the new executive director. We all wish him well in this new position. We are planning on having a spotlight interview to better introduce Timi to everyone.

It has been a pleasure serving as the executive director since the end of 2019.  During this time, I have been able to work with our very dedicated part time secretariat team: Rachel Simon, Joyce Anglade, Carmit Keddem and most recently Jamie Thivener.  We have all seen the incredible growth in membership and in the development of country chapters over the past few years.  My hope is that the growth and development of the country chapters will continue as I see them as the future for IAPHL.

As for what we did in March, maybe the most important has been finalizing the recruitment process for the new executive director.  We concluded with some amazing candidates, and selected Mr. Omole from Nigeria. We also have been interviewing final candidates for the position for global community manager.  The secretariat team hopes to make that final selection in early April.

We had a very good attendance at our short webinar on Advocacy that we conducted with our colleagues from the Zimbabwe chapter. As with all of our webinars, the recordings are available on the IAPHL website. The Zimbabwe chapter has truly been moving forward with their advocacy efforts.

And for those using the using the website, you now can search for topics under discussions.

Well as some of you may know, I have been involved with IAPHL for more than 15 years, so I plan to continue to keep up with this great community of practice.

All the best,

Walter Proper, IAPHL Executive Director
