IMG_1792In recent years, IAPHL has sponsored more than 40 members’ attendance at Global Health Supply Chain Conferences (GHSCS). The GHSCS connects academics and implementers on a platform of knowledge exchange and global networking to foster south-to-south learning. The summit focuses on innovations in global health supply chains and explores emerging trends in information acquisition and sharing, coordination across stakeholders to improve efficiency, and service and best practice ideas on public/private partnerships. At the summit, attendees learn best practice results and “how-to” ideas for implementation in their respective contexts.

In 2012, IAPHL sponsored 17 members to attend the 5th GHSCS. The summit featured two days of educational sessions on three key topics—understanding and managing risk in the supply chain, taking supply chain innovations to scale, and benchmarking supply chain performance. The third day of the conference was dedicated to “open space technology” and discrete meetings, including educational content and networking for IAPHL members.

IAPHL sponsored 13 members to attend the 6th GHSCS, from November 18th-20th, 2013 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
